According To Your Faith

Two blind men sought our Lord's help in Matthew 9:29. That verse reads = in part, "Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be = it unto you." Think about what Jesus did not say. He did not say, "According to your = fate be it unto you." Some talk today about predestination and = fatalism. But I've noticed that those who talk most about those = subjects still look both ways before crossing the street. Jesus = interrupted fate when he healed these blind men. Jesus did not say, "According to your fortune be it unto you." It was = Jesus who did say, "A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the = things which he possesseth." We can have an abundance of things and not = have an abundance of life. And Jesus did not say, "According to your friends be it unto you." = Popularity and power are not reliable measures of life. Friends are = human, frail and often will fail us when we need them most. The = Psalmist complained. "mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which = did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me." But in the = very next verse he says, "But, Thou, O LORD!" He moved from earthly = friends to a heavenly Savior in one verse. It is always, "According to your faith be it unto you." If we trust = Him much, we realize much. The resources are there. But if you are = forever making small drafts on the Bank of Heaven, don't be surprised = that while you are rattling your pennies, others are rich with God's = gold. "The Lord is rich unto all that call upon him" (Romans 10:12). =20 Remember, faith is not some weird feeling. It is a stubborn and sturdy = confidence that God will keep his promises. Don't waste your time = looking for fancy recipes in poems, books, lectures and all the rest. = You'll experience victory as you trust God. "According to your faith be = it unto you."
